Things I've bought and found

Sunday, April 19, 2009

So I've recently made some purchases that I've been saving up to buy for a while now. I've been needing to get some more perfume, a computer sleeve for my laptop because I'm currently using a scarf in my backpack for padding (and I just know something bad is going to happen if I keep it up), and a book to read outside with the amazing Spring weather we are having.

This is my old perfume that I was running out of, Versace's Bright Crystal. I really like it, but decided to change things up a bit.

So I got Ralph Lauren's Romance. It's a little stronger, but I like it. I bought it at Sephora for about $36 and will probably be going back there to try other perfumes.

Here is my new InCase laptop slip cover. Very nice pink color with padding. I can't wait to use it during the week. So excited!

I saw the trailer for this movie a while back and just recently saw a short clip on the making of the movie and knew I had to buy the book. So hopefully when I'm done I'll watch the movie and see what I think. I also just downloaded the song featured in it's trailer, Primavera by Ludovico Einaudi

I bought TR his birthday present a while back, but now that his birthday is over, I can finally show it. It is a Buck Knife 105 Pathfinder, the same model my mother bought my father when they were dating. It's a beautiful knife and I know that TR will be using it for the rest of his life, which is extra special.

As for future purchases, I'm looking at getting this amazing t-shirt from RangerUp.

I also took some silly pictures last Friday of things I found really interesting.

The silhouette is classic and my first photo I took of it, my flash went off and the guy looked around the glass. Oops!

The license plate I found while taking my friend out for lunch. It's so New York...

I like to hear you calling me

My shoulders and back are killing me from last night. I had work until really late and I was busy since the time I walked in to the time I left. I actually didn't finish all my side work (setting tables, polishing silverware, etc) and will be going in early today to do it. The other waitress and I were so exhausted and in pain last night that we just couldn't stay till past 11 to finish it all.

I think I'm so sore from the back to back fencing tournaments I had last weekend that I don't think I have fully recovered from. Also the fact that the shoes I wear to work are not ideal for it. They are very old Pumas whose rubber soles have been worn smooth and don't offer a ton of cushion anymore. I saw these shoes online the other day through a link on a forum and they look like just what I need and are not that expensive too! Shoesforcrews.com looks like a great place to get some new shoes that are appropriate for work. I'm really partial to these ones because they look like Sketchers and not granny shoes. I've never bought shoes online before, but I'm willing to give it a shot because I really need them for work.

For this blog, I have a few topics I have written down that I wanted to talk about, so you might see a few posts in a row. I'm going to try to keep my posts short because they shouldn't be really, really long, just to the point. But with this post, I guess I'm not starting off the way I wanted, sorry!

The title of this post refers to my love of personalized ringers for my phone. I use myxer.com to upload songs I have and make them into ringtones. For my boyfriend (I'm still thinking of a name for him on this blog), my first song I used was "Love Will Come Through" by Travis and I used it for a long time and still love it. Then when I found this myxer website, I decided to change things up a bit. So my first one I used was "Phenomena" by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs (the only video that I could find without it being played live). I used it for a bit, but I really liked how the first one was not so energetic, but almost like a lullaby. So I decided to use one of my other favorite songs, "Lucky" by Jason Mraz. This one fits way better and it has a lot of meaning for me.

What I really love the most about using personalized ringtones is when I hear that specific one for him, I KNOW it's HIM and I get really excited. It's a reminder that he is thinking about me and wants to know how I am doing. It's a daily gift I treasure because I know that in the future I won't be receiving daily phone calls or be able to call back if I miss one.

Do you have a specific ringtone for your loved one and if so, what is it?
